This cranked door bottom brush fits more modern doors with door built into the timber frame, see drawings.

The 0.890 metre long premier 55 will only work well on doors with in line timber thresholds as above drawing, even if slightly twisted.

It can also work on the inside, upside down pointed up to close against the frame fitted to a garage door at the top of the door.

Regardless of the number of pieces you buy of premier 55, this product is shipped by a carrier called myhermes they take about 3-5 working days from despatch, for old customers it is now too long to go by post, and is a long time as first class post goes parcel post !

My section i made different / try to think about when it is screw fixed, the jaw of the rear of the brush carrier is in line with the flat leg ,"so what" i hear you say, i made my first tooling with it slightly out and after testing with opening and closing a door the screws would work loose ! , mine it it fixed and the section has no rocking after being screwed up its a steady fix , simple and british ,also tested to 100,000 openings and closings for testing in my old company to bs7386.

These are made and supplied at 890 mm long (in old money, the size is 35 inches or 2 ft 11")

We make them this length to allow you to easily trim these to the correct sizes to suit your door, multiple lengths can be used side by side with little loss of sealing benefit. This 890 mm will fit the majority of domestic doors but please check your width

(whilst this range will seal up to 20mm under a door , use longer brush , see below
You will also need to attend to the perpendicular draughts and possible using thehairyworm acoess the inside of the door , depends on space that will be separate seal

We do make bigger straight 180 degree premier strip and make a thicker industrial range from 25 to 150 mm)

Please choose the correct size brush
10 mm size is for fine draught proofing from 0 - 2 mm gaps (we also make smaller seals)
15 mm size is for fine draught proofing from 0 - 5 mm gaps
22 mm size is for fine draught proofing from 0 - 10 mm gaps
30 mm size is for fine draught proofing from 0 - 15 mm gaps
35 mm size is for fine draught proofing from 0 - 17 mm gaps
50 mm size is for fine draught proofing from 0 - 20 mm gaps

We can go bigger in normal brush , if you have a factory , look at your industrial doors!!

Garage doors: this can be made into a kit by buying more 890 mm lengths. It can still go by the economical route of: myhermes

I.e. buy 3 pieces @ 890 mm of an up and over garage door) with this kit it will seal from 2.00 metres up to 2.670 metres , (6 feet to 8 feet 9 “ wide )

I.e. buy 4 pieces @ 890 mm for up the top of an up and over garage door) with this kit it will seal from 2.00 metres up to 3.560 metres , (9 feet to to 11 feet 8" wide ) and so on ........

It is easy to fit, just follow the simple instructions included , then thehairyworm will give you a long life.

Materials:
We make a full fill brush with the right components. This is our 4 mm series backing width brush our brushes are made of nylon 6 an important factor we feel.

The carrier is made from architectural aluminium a point worth noting, it makes the carrier stronger, its "h" holder is cranked at 55 degrees, the trim of brush is measured out of the steel backing inside the aluminium on this sizing giving about 2 mm of bristle less on all sizes out of the aluminium holder.

For the technically minded:
Nylon 6 is a harder wearing material against concrete and other hardwearing surfaces than polypropylene
Nylon 6 has a higher working temperature of about 145 degrees centigrade, polypropylene softens far earlier than this.
We do not use polypropylene but competitors do, it softens at 70 – 80 degrees centigrade. This is a temperature your garage door reaches when it gets warm in the summer , when warm polypropylene bristles then bend and stays bent causing the brush to appear to move away from its opposing surface, as they cool they stay the same size curled not touching the opposite side
I will leave you to decide which is the right choice, I will say chalk and cheese!

(A lot of competitors use this and also partial fill! To make brushes lower in cost for them! We dont short change).

The premier 55 on opening and closing should offer little resistance if you have motor driven doors.

This item is suitable for draught proofing , dust sealing , dust sealing , insect sealing , stops flies , stops moths , cockroaches yes they are in the uk, aluminium,timber ,steel , pvcu, grp doors.

Cuts easily with top hardened cutters, or good pincers and junior hacksaw, comes with full fitting instructions, you need to follow the full instructions.

We do not supply screws as we know different surfaces require different fixings and different colours.
